Pears Program for Global Innovation: "How NOT to do Humanitarian Innovation"

Glocal's staff and students were happy to participate and contribute to the Pears Program for Global Innovation night on  "How NOT to do Humanitarian Innovation". 

The event, organised as a part of the Pears Challenge 2019- WASH in Humanitarian settings brought together humanitarian practioners from different fields to discuss how humanitarian innovation should NOT be done and how to avoid some of the pitfalls of previous negative experiences.

Do join us for our Cohort 8's Graduation Event  on Wednesday 13th March 2019 with refreshments, TedTalks, roundtable discussions and a keynote speaker! 

This will be a fantastic opportunity to hear from our graduating students about their recent internships in developing countries, learn more about our program in International Development and welcome our keynote speaker -  a Glocal alumnus.

Glocal is happy to update on the upcoming event for the graduation of cohort 8 of our students. The graduation event will take place on Wednesday the 13th March 2019, from 15:00 till 18:30,  in Beit Meirsdorf Building in the Mount Scopus Campus in Jerusalem. We cordially invite all families, alumni, partners and those interested in Glocal to attend. The event will be an occasion to hear from the students about their experiences in the field and congratulate them on finishing their degree.

Glocal's students and staff were happy to participate in the Pears Challenge 2019.  Glocal's cohort 9 students Genevive Ogan Estacaan and Tatenda Probert Malan, together with Glocal teacher Imri Schattner-Ornan gave a talk in the Jerusalem launch event about their expeirence of working with Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) related issues in various situations and gave examples from their fieldwork in Bangladesh, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

Glocal invited to the Pesach cocktail hosted by the British Friends of the Hebrew University

The British Friends of the Hebrew University organised a Pesach cocktail in the Hilton hotel in Tel-Aviv in early April 2018. The event was attended by Prof. Guy Harpaz, head of the programme, and two Glocal international students that spoke about the programme, their work in Ghana and India and the tools Glocal is giving them to engage with international and community development.

Glocal's Magazine 2018 on the issue of Gender & Development - great launch and discussion

The Glocal Magazine was launched in Tel-Aviv on Friday the 16th February 2018. This year’s magazine’s topic was about a Gender Approach in Development. The successful event saw presentations by magazine writers about their work and a panel discussion on the various approaches to recognize and acknowledge gender  related issues in the context of social and international development. Glocal Magazine Launch 2017 - The Role of Development in Areas of Conflict

On January 27th, 2017 we launched our annual magazine in an event taking place at Yeffet 83, Jaffa's young adults community center. Nearly 50 participants gathered to discuss the role of development in areas of conflict, and to learn different perspectives of academics, and professional speakers from the field.  

We thank Mr. Ariel Dloomy, Ms. Nivine Sandouka and Ms. Yalee Azani for speaking and to our dear guests for attending and presenting their views on the topic.
