Dr. Barak Weekes has specialized in development economics and governance relations in the developing world, and has a wide interest in development in diverse communities. Dr. Barak Weekes' PhD thesis, from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, focused on the impact of governance relations on water management in China.

Prior to joining Glocal Dr. Barak Weekes also worked at the Weitz Center for Development Studies in Rechovot and at Kav LaOved, an Israeli labour rights NGO.

In the Glocal program, Dr. Barak Weekes teaches the course "Development Economics: Principles and Application" and guides students in the process of identifying and preparing for their internships.
