Amalia, from Argentina, completed her BA in Business Administration at Universidad de Buenos Aires. In her internship at IsraAID HQ, Amalia worked in organizational strengthening processes and projects. These included the annual feedback from the field missions and the implementation of a collaborative platform for strategic planning and program design. Amalia participated in the design of data collection tools, qualitative data analysis, and reporting to diverse stakeholders. She collaborated with platform implementation by researching software to implement, conducting presentations and focus groups with different stakeholders to ensure participatory selection of the tools to implement, and assisting in the procurement process and design of the implementation plan. Her main takeaways from the internship are experiencing the challenges of implementing extensive participatory approaches, understanding how necessary and beneficial they are; and learning about the difficulties of organizational growth and field professionalization, alongside the implementation of development programs and emergency responses.

IsraAID’s mission is to provide urgent aid to communities affected by humanitarian crises, assist in recovery and disaster risk reduction worldwide. This image depicts the work Amalia was involved in at IsraAID: helping to ensure that IsraAID’s resources are efficiently oriented towards assisting communities affected by the disaster. Amalia helped to identify areas for improvement and worked on implementing tools for strengthening program design and monitoring capacities. This work is expected to enhance (or increase) IsraAID's organizational capacities to achieve its goals.
