Yiluo Mose belongs to the Nuosu ethnic minority from Liangshan, southwestern China. Before Glocal, she majored in Sociology at Shanghai University. Yiluo chose China Development Research Foundation CDRF for her Glocal internship. Here, she joined the One Village One Preschool OVOP program, which works to facilitate early childhood development in rural China. Besides daily office support activities, she was glad to take part in the Children Development Investigation in Poverty Regions in China, the largest investigation on the subject since the establishment of the P.R.China, Yiluo was also a member of the preparation committee of China Development Forum 2020, a very significant annual event as it serves as a “tunnel” between China’s government, foreign enterprise, and scholars for exploring the “hot” issues of development in China and how the related actions contribute to the world. The COVID-19 Pandemic has exacerbated the arrival of the digital age, promoting the digital transformation of communities in innovative and positive ways such as online education and remote management. However, the community, especially children, also face long-term challenges from both the pandemic and the arrival of the digital age, which require development professionals to prepare well for both the related challenges and for the opportunities to adapt to uncertain environments. Both Glocal and the internship at CDRF inspired Yiluo to think globally and act locally. By combining the academic knowledge from her studies at Glocal and the practical experience from her internship, she was able to develop ideas into action.
China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) launched the Children Development Investigation in Poverty Regions in China in September 2020.
